OK, OK...
I agree, it's been a while since we last posted something on the blog, a whole semester in fact!
Let's blame it on the busy lives of graduate students! In any case, we are back, and energized after the semester's and we've got some interesting statistics for you. As time goes by our social network (UMassID.com) is getting more and more attention. We are currently at 350 members and growing! Not bad for a network that is about to celebrate its third birthday this August!
When alumni join our LinkedIn network I always let them know that we have a more active location at UMassID.com, and that we are made up of current students, alumni and faculty of the program. The question often becomes "how many alumni, students and faculty are there?"
Well, at current count, most of our members are listed as current students - either in a certificate, MEd or non-degree program (see image bellow). Now the status of members is self-reported, that means that if you join UMassID.com and you say you are an MEd student, we take you at your word that you are indeed an MEd student! This means that in order for us to really know what the distribution of current students to alumni is, you ought to go into your profile settings and change your status from "MEd student" to "Alumnus"; that way when we run these reports we have an accurate assessment of how many alumni and how many current students we have.
