Historical Course Listings now available!

Were you ever curious to find out which courses were offered when so you could plan your plan of study? Last year GIDA put together a page of historical course listing that went back to 2000 (click here to view it) - the past 10 years are generally a good indicator of how often a course is offered, and whether it's offered face-to-face or online.

This past month GIDA detectives hunted down information from past course catalogs going all the way back to 1984 - to the founding of the Instructional Design Program at UMass Boston - and they put together a listing that includes course numbers, who taught the course and in which semenster (click here to view).

One of the treasures that we found was a list of special topics courses that was lost to most people, but resided in these catalogs. We've added these special topics to our lists of courses that the department offers and offered at one point (click here to view - scroll down to special topics). Looking at these special topics courses is pretty interesting in that you can see how the field has evolved! It's also interesting to see what courses have been offered before, because some of these special topics are revelent even in today's work - some examples are Human Computer Interaction, Research Methods and the Instructional Design Process, Seminar in Human Resources Education.

Peruse the course listings and let us know what you think. If you are an "old timer" GIDA member who was a student in those early days, what do you think of the developments in the program? Which course(s) would you recommend?
